Peace Talks was announced as one of four books on the shortlist for Best Novel in the prestigious Costa Book Awards 2020. The announcement was made live on BBC Radio 4’s Front Row programme. Listen.

Previous winners and nominees for the Costa Book Novel Award (formerly the Whitbread Prize) include Salman Rushdie, Ali Smith, William Trevor, Sally Rooney and Evie Wyld.

Tim Finch will be speaking at the Also Festival which takes place on 28th-30th August at Park Farm, Compton Verney, Warwickshire. He will be discussing Peace Talks and wider questions of how literature approaches the world’s problems.

Tim Finch contributed a short essay – On the Resurrection – to Imagine, a compilation of non-fiction, flash fiction, poetry and essays written by writers such as Mohsin Hamid, Edmund de Waal, Dina Nayeri and Rupi Kaur. It was published on 20th June, 2020 – World Refugee Day – as part of Refugee Week. The e-book can be read here and Tim can be heard reading his essay as part of a Damian Barr Literary Salon podcast.

Tim’s second novel, Peace Talks, was published on 16th April 2020 at the height of the Covid 19 crisis in the UK. All launch and promotional events were cancelled. But Tim enjoyed launch day in his garden with a small celebration!
